Website germinating

This site isn't "under construction", because it hasn't been 1995 in a long, long while.

Besides, that old term implies construction work going on, as well as the eventuality of something being constructed, completed, and done. I think we all gave up that expectation of websites about the time folks stopped putting "under construction" .gifs on their vanity pages.

This is more like gardening work; occasional, sporadic effort that's always ongoing, never ending, and of highly uncertain — assuredly unplanned — outcome. Right now, for instance, i've planted the seed of a main front page in the back of my brain, but nothing has as yet sprouted.

No jokes about fertilizer. Those got old before anybody even started making them.

…Ok, the front page grew, and is up. Now i need a favicon and a logo image.

"No jokes about fertilizer."

Because that would be a simply offal thing to do, right?

Hiya, lynx. How are you and Max doing these days?

Thanks for the ping!

We're doing quite well, i'd say. I get all email to insecurities, so i'm easy to contact; Max has his gmail address, and can be found on his livejournal account too. (Look for him in my friends list. I'm lynxcat73 there, and he uses an icon with a red beard.)

Are you one of the two people who've applied for accounts here on this Drupal? Because i've approved them both, then seen nothing out of either. Hmm, wonder if they're just very incompetent spambots...

'twasn't me

Nope. I've not applied for an account. I've a handful of blogging accounts already between various sites and i think if i got any more i'd either lose track or i'd be swallowed whole, never to be seen by the world offline again. Steward is busy checking out potential site-seeing opportunities for you as i type this.

multiple accounts problem

yeah, i have that too. i've actually started using OpenID authentication to help ease it, so i can use one account as the "password" for another one.

that, plus a heavily encrypted file of passwords, helps. oh, and having a bunch more passwords cached in firefox, behind its master password. i only have to remember... er... a handful now, and i could recover all but a few of them from that encrypted file. so only really one password to rule them all, and in my homedir bind them...
