More seriously, the fact that web browsers generally don't have a good cursive font mapped to CSS's "cursive" font definition — and worse yet, that most computers don't come with a good font that would do for such a mapping — is really a shameful disgrace in this day and age. I've got how many pointless wingdings versions on call, yet my partner's Windoze box not only lacks the open source cursive font i've got, but completely lacks any worthwhile cursive font, and we both of us need the specific font name to use specified in the CSS in order to avoid unbearable ugliness? Outrageous, i say.
