Max found an old pen i had forgotten i had, a pilot varsity disposable fountain pen. they used to sell those in one single store here in town — the local community college's bookstore — but stopped carrying them years ago.

for a fountain pen that's been sitting around untouched (with the cap on) for, oh, two or three years now, it sure started up writing very neatly, no problems or complaints at all.

First picture: Pilot Petit1 fountain pen in my hand. Shows just how short this pen is. That stuff that looks like condensation inside the body of the pen, just back of the nib, is exactly that. Doesn't seem to do any harm, so I'm ignoring it. Might be my fault, for having rinsed out the pen cap with water and not dried it well enough before capping the pen.
